Ant people
I was watching the people climb to the top of the hills in Malvern at the weekend. They reminded me of ants, following each other along the ridge. We often laugh at ants for being so regimented, divided into workers, builders and egg layers, all leading their purposeful but almost pointless lives. But, aren't we really just the same. Despite being at the right end of evolution, we are still very much like our red and black cousins. We too follow the same repetitive paths. To work. To the shops. And if we are lucky to the beach. We keep the beat to the same tick and tock of the clock. Up at 8, break at 1, home by 6, bed by 11. Even our conversations and thoughts are on repeat play. Tweet and retweet. Yes, me may be able to go a bit further and move a bit quicker, but we are still ants. Just without the sting or ability to survive a tsunami or nuclear fall out.
